Kevin Williams agrees to paycut with Vikings
That means Williams' new deal will count $5 million against the salary cap in 2013 and he will be a free agent after the season.
Asked in January how he would react if he was asked to restructure his deal, Williams downplayed it.
"I haven't even thought about it," he said. "I'm not going to worry about it. We'll work something out if that comes up. But I haven't given it much thought."
Williams said then that he would like to play another two or three years and wanted to finish his career with the Vikings, who selected him in the first round of the 2003 draft.
"Would love to, but you know … I'll just leave it at that," he said.
