Scuffle breaks out at Jets practice again

It's become almost a daily occurrence for Jets' teammates to engage in a fight during practice. Find out why Rex Ryan is not pleased with the antics of his players on the practice field.

Rex Ryan wants his Jets to play with an edge this season and so far during training camp he's getting his wish. For the second time in two days fights broke out at practice prompting Ryan to break up the shoving matches.

Three separate skirmishes developed on Tuesday, the first brawl ensued during an 11-on-11 drill when linebacker DeMario Davis slammed Terrance Ganaway to the ground creating a scuffle between a handful of offensive and defensive players.

The Jets head man intervened and went on a one-minute profanity laced tirade, imploring his team to keep things under control and not to allow their tempers to boil over. Ryan's words evidentially didn't carry any weight because later in practice during a 7-on-7 drill cornerback Antonio Cromartie grabbed rookie receiver Stephen Hill and threatened to punch him. On the very next play Cromartie barreled into Dustin Keller forcing Ryan to stop practice and order Gang Green to run wind sprints.

While New York is exhibiting a feistiness that was absence from its play last season, Ryan is not pleased with his team's lack of discipline and complete disregard for his instructions.

The Jets will bring their fighting attitude to Cincinnati on Friday, August 10, for their first preseason contest against the Bengals.
