The New York Jets have claimed WR Mario Urrutia off waivers from the Cincinnati Bengals, a league source told Scout.com.

Urrutia, a former 2008 seventh-round pick of the Bengals, was waived last weekend.

Urrutia (6-6/232/Louisville/Fern Creek, KY) was waived Aug. 30 and signed to the practice squad on Aug. 31 where he spent the entire season. During his college career at Louisville, Urrutia tallied 130 receptions for 2,271 yards and 16 touchdowns.

The Jets have very little talent at receiver other than starter Jerrico Cotchery, so Urrutia, with a strong training camp, could push for a roster spot this fall.
