Biography:

2006: DeVan was part of the offensive line that returned all five starters from 2005...a key component for one of the most significant blocks in the program’s history on the Yvenson Bernard two-point conversion run to win the Sun Bowl...Pac-10 Second Team selection and an honorable mention academic pick for the second straight year...Rimington Trophy preseason watch list member.

2005: Kyle started all 11 games and as his play and the play of the rest of the line improved so did the Beavers’ rushing attack...running back Yvenson Bernard finished ninth in the nation for yards per game at 120.1 and over the last eight games had 1,107 yards...quarterback Matt Moore was second in the league for yards per game passing at 271.1...Pac-10 Honorable Mention selection...also an honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic selection.

2004: Kyle played in all 12 games as a redshirt-freshman, earning valuable experience.

2003: Redshirted.

High School: A two-way starter for head coach Fred Jones, starting his sophomore season...played offensive tackle all three years and tackle on defense as a sophomore and junior and defensive end as a senior...recorded 88 tackles as a senior, including 14 sacks...on offense, he had a school-record 59 pancake blocks...Monticello Empire League first-team selection on offense (tackle) and defense (tackle) as a junior and senior...selected as the league’s Most Outstanding Lineman as a junior and senior...selected first-team All-Northern California; first-team All-Sacramento area and first-team All-Solano County, all on offense... also lettered in wrestling and won the CIF 275-pound title as a senior on the campus of the University of The Pacific...39-1 as a senior, adding the Monticello Empire League and San Joaquin Sub-Section titles to his resume.

Personal: Born in Sacramento, California...son of Ralph DeVan and Sherene Chandler...Ralph is a railroad engineer and Sherene is a real estate broker...has one brother, Dustin...enjoys weightlifting and wrestling... graduated from Vacaville with a 3.65 GPA...class president as a sophomore...won a National Football League/College Football Hall of Fame scholar-athlete scholarship for Solano County as a senior...member of the National Honor Society...selected OSU because “of the school, Pac-10 Conference, coaching staff and players”...involved in community service projects in Corvallis...majoring in business administration and in on track to graduate in December.
