The New York Jets announced that TE Chris Baker and LB Jason Trusnik have been placed on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform list and T Clint Oldenburg has been placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list.

Baker battled back problems last year, so that is likely what landed him on PUP. Putting Baker on PUP is perhaps some kind of punishment for the verbal grenades the tight end lobbed at GM Mike Tannenbaum over his contract during mini-camp.

Trusnik (6-4/250/Ohio Northern/Macedonia, OH), signed with the Jets as an undrafted rookie free agent on May 12, 2007. He appeared in six games in 2007 after being signed to the active roster on November 17, 2007, and recorded six special teams tackles. He is battling a foot injury.

Oldenburg (6-5/310/Colorado State/Gillette, WY), was signed to the Jets practice squad on September 20, 2007, after being waived by New England. Originally selected by the Patriots in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft, he appeared in the final two games of the 2007 season for the Jets at right tackle, making his debut at Tennessee, December 23, 2007. What is wrong with Oldenburg - we will never know. Just like we never found out what was wrong with LB Cody Spencer, who was put on the same list last year.
