According to a league source (probably agent Drew Rosenhaus), the Jets are expected to release Thomas Jones this week. According to the source, Jones refuses to take a paycut from the $5.8 million he is scheduled to make this year. While you can understand Jones' not wanting to cut his salary, he probably isn't dealing with the reality of the current NFL financial landscape.
