Rex Ryan on Sirius Part II

Dolphins LB Channing Crowder

While on the Sirius Blitz, Rex Ryan was asked a number of questions about his trash-talking. Here is what he had to say -

"I have not been a head coach in the National Football League, not for one game," said Ryan "But I've been myself my whole life and that's the way it's gotta be. I know I'm not going to be successful if I have to pipe down. That's not who I am. I'm just going to tell it the way I believe it to be, and I certainly didn't mean to be disrespectful, especially to [Bill] Belichick. I have a lot of respect for him. I have a lot of respect for his coaches and his football team, but my point is, we're not afraid of any of these guys. We're not intimidated by them and our players shouldn't be."

Ryan feels that in order to be a tough football team, you have to be cocky.

"If we want to be a hard-nosed football team and we want to have the type team that people are respecting us, they fear and respect us, not the other way around," said Ryan, "So all I know is I want to be the team that people are talking about, that this football team is one of those double chin strap teams. You're going to have to buckle it up tight. And that's how we're planning on playing football.

"I think the Channing Crowder thing was taken a little out of context, but, you know what, who cares anyway? We'll take on all comers, and at the end of the day, we'll see who's got egg on their face."
