Now that Plaxico Burress is likely free to play this year, will the Jets, who love signing free agents, ink him?

His lawyer, Ben Brafman, now a conditioning expert, had this to say -

"Physically he's in the best shape of his life," said Brafman. "He's ready to play. There is not a victim in this case except Plaxico Burress."

The Jets have a tendency, under Mike Tannenbaum, to look for answers outside their building.

So don't be shocked if they make a run at Burress.

While Burress' trial likely won't be until after the NFL season, the 6-5 receiver could be available to them for the entire campaign, and then end up in jail down the road.

But it's also possible that Burress could be suspended by the NFL this fall.

"We are not going to speculate on that," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello told Andrew Marchand of 1050 ESPN Radio. "We reserve the right to act accordingly at the appropriate time."
