DELRAY BEACH, FLA. - New York Jets wide receiver David Clowney teamed up with NFL players from around the league to host his first football camp in his hometown of Delray Beach, Fla. on Saturday, June 6. Close to 200 high school athletes from Atlantic High School, Boca, Forest Hill, Palm Beach Gardens, Boynton, Village Academy, Pope John Paul II, Pompano Beach, South Fork and little league team Delray Rocks, were treated to a day of first-class football instruction by some of the NFL’s finest.

New York Jets D’Brickashaw Ferguson, Nate Harris, Wallace Wright, Kareem Brown, Stanley Daniels, Vernon Gholston, Brian Schaefering and Marques Murrell came out in support of Clowney’s first football camp. Vontae Davis, Antonio Freeman, Abram Elam, Mike Rumph and Al Harris added their expertise.

The high school participants started off the day building up their endurance and speed. NFL players teamed up by position and ran though NFL-type drills with each of the young athletes. Prior to lunch, provided by Subway, Arby’s and Dean Anthony’s Pizzeria & Restaurant, Julia Picinich, a nutritionist from the College of St. Elizabeth’s, spoke to the high school athletes about the proper way to take care of their bodies.

Football fans, parents and young children in attendance were treated to snow cones, cotton candy and bounce houses. A disc jockey was on hand as well as Vitamin Water and samples of Red Bull.

At the conclusion of the camp, all high school athletes received autographs from every NFL player in attendance and took team photos. Two lucky fans won a team autographed New York Jets football. A Thomas Jones autographed jersey was also a winning prize as well as a team autographed New York Jets helmet.
