Leon Washington, who is in the last year of his rookie contract, clearly deserves a new deal. And he has hired a new agent to work on this contract.

Washington has hired Virginia-based agent Alvin Keels to represent him. Keels replaces Alan Herman.

Keels is known as a hard-ass negotiator. He recently got CB DeAngelo Hall a monster deal with the Washington Redskins. Keels also was behind the enormous contract that RB Larry Johnson received from the Kansas City Chiefs two years go.

Mike Tannenbaum can't be thrilled with this news. Keels can be a pain in the butt for GM's. A few years ago, Tannenbaum and Keels couldn't reach a deal for Lamont Jordan, and the running back signed with Oakland.
