Lupica calls for Tannenbaum to retire

Posted Feb 12, 2009

Mike Lupica thinks Mike Tannenbaum should retire at the age of 40.

The headline on his Jets' column this week read - "Time for Jets officials to follow Brett Favre's lead and head for retirement."

He also explains why the Jets traded for Brett Favre -

"Woody Johnson and the Jets took a shot with Brett Favre, took a shot with him the way Favre himself took big shots, sometimes crazy, reckless shots, down the field his whole football career," wrote Lupica. "They took a shot on him the way teams kept taking a shot on Roger Clemens at the end. Mostly they took a shot because they had no choice, because they were the Jets."

Yes, they are the Jets. That is their name.
