Daily News continues assault on Jets

Posted Jan 4, 2009

The Daily News continues to make the Jets look bad. In Sunday's paper, Gary Myers went after Mike Tannenbaum.

"The only Super Bowl trophy the Jets own celebrates its 40th birthday on Jan. 12," wrote Myers. "One month and two days later, Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum celebrates his 40th birthday.

"This is the first coaching search he's controlled, and he has no previous ties to any of the outside candidates. He has no coaching tree. He is the last branch.

"The Jets' immediate future is in his hands.

"Confident, Jets fans?"

It should be noted the Myers did call for the firing of Giants Super Bowl championship coach Tom Coughlin on more than one occasion.

So he might not be the best judge of coaches.
