Unnamed coward rips Brett Favre
Bettis Edwards

Thomas Jones on Hot 97, and an unnamed coward in Newsday, threw Brett Favre under the bus this week.

Let's start with the coward.

"There was a lot of resentment in the room about him," a Jets player told Newsday.

Of course there was, he threw some costly interceptions down the stretch.

The coward continues.

"He never socialized with us, never went to dinner with anyone," the player said. "He was distant."

Favre arrived in the middle of training camp last summer, and had to spend every waking moment catching up on the playbook. Did you expect him to become close friends with his teammates in such a short period of time?

Did anyone reach out to him?

Maybe if he comes back next year, he can take the coward out for a steak dinner.

And now on to Thomas Jones, who prides himself on saying nothing to the team beat reporters whenever they interview him. But early this week he decided to open up to Angie Martinez on Hot 97.

"You can't turn the ball over and expect to win," said Jones. "The other day, the three interceptions really hurt us. You don't like it. I don't like it and I know everybody else on the team doesn't like it, but all you can do is fight [through it]."

While some of those picks were inexcusable, the game turned out to be meaningless, so why Jones even bringing up those interceptions?

And does he think Favre likes throwing picks?

One last things from the coward.

"Eric," he said, "wasn't the reason we didn't make the playoffs."

Yes he was (poor motivation), as was Favre, the lack of a pass rush, poor pass defense and inconsistent special teams.

There is plenty of blame to go around.
