During his Wednesday press conference, Denver coach Mike Shanahan pretty much ruled out starting safety Marlon McCree.

“Right now it doesn’t look good for Marlon," said Shanahan. "He is still getting better but he did not practice today and I think the chances of him playing this weekend are not very good. He will be back, hopefully, before the season is over.”

McCree has an ankle injury.

The status of four other starters is unclear. LB D.J. Williams (knee), LB Nate Webster (knee), CB Champ Bailey (groin) and RB Selvin Young (groin) all practiced on a limited basis on Wednesday.
