Erik Ainge reprimanded by NFL

Posted Nov 21, 2008

The NFL has suspended Jets rookie quarterback Erik Ainge, who is currently on IR>

"Erik Ainge of the New York Jets has been suspended without pay for four games for violating the NFL Policy on Steroids and Related Substances," said an NFL spokesman. "Ainge’s suspension begins immediately. He will be eligible to rejoin the team on Monday, December 15, following the Jets’ December 14 game against the Buffalo Bills."

Ainge is on IR with a foot injury, so his suspension will have no impact on game availability, but he won't be able to practice with the team during his suspension.
