Good thing he didn't go to Wall Street

A forthright Marvin Lewis announced on Friday that his starting quarterback Carson Palmer isn't going to play on Sunday due to an elbow injury. This is a huge break for the Jets.

According to Geoff Hobson of Bengals.com, "a plan that had been in motion since Monday was now in place. If Palmer's sore throwing elbow didn't feel any better, he would not only be scratched from throwing Wednesday and Thursday, he would do more rehab Friday, not throw, and Fitzpatrick would get the start against the Jets."

He will be replaced by former Harvard quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who played poorly for an injured Palmer against Cleveland early this season.

"I've got that first game out of the way. I've been there," said Fitzpatrick about the 20-12 loss. "I've been in a live rush situation. I'm going to be smarter with the ball. I'm not going to try and make things happen. I'm just going to stay within myself and run the offense."
