Ben Graham re-signed/Hodges

Posted Sep 22, 2008

With punter Reggie Hodges out with a hamstring injury, the Jets re-signed Ben Graham, who had a very poor game last week against New England.

Hodges has been downgraded to out with a thigh injury. It's probably a hamstring, but the Jets are too smart to be that specific.

Hodges was added to the injury report on Saturday with the thigh injury. He was listed as questionable on Saturday, but he probably could have been listed as out on Saturday, but the Jets don't like to tip their hands early.

Clearly the Jets brass doesn't think that practice squad punter Waylon Prather is ready to hold on field goals. He certainly is as good a punter as Graham, but asking him to hold on MNF, in his debut, might be too much to ask of the kid.

Promising 6-4 receiver Marcus Henry was cut to make room for Graham. The Jets now have two punters and two placekickers on the active roster.
