Jets sign K Jay Feely

Posted Sep 9, 2008

With placekicker Mike Nugent nursing a leg injury, the Jets signed former Dolphins, Giants and Falcons kicker Jay Feely. The announcement was made by Rich Cimini.

Feely made 21 of 23 field goals last year for the Dolphins, and has extensive experience kicking in the Meadowlands from his stint with the Giants.

As for Nugent, the Jets still haven't announced what is wrong with his leg, and they never will. Bill Belichick doesn't give injury details, so maybe that is where the idea came from.

Belichick's people told the CBS broadcast team, after Tom Brady's first quarter knee injury last Sunday, that the quarterback was "questionable" to return. He blew out is ACL, and is "questionable" to return? That is insulting information to relay to your broadcast partner.
