Jets cut Matt Chatham/Hank Poteat

In a surprising decision, the Jets cut running back Jesse Chatman. The announcement was made by Dave Hutchinson.

"In a stunning move, the Jets released veteran RB Jesse Chatman, who rushed for 93 yards and a touchdown on Thursday night against the Eagles and led the team in rushing this preseason with 164 yards and a touchdown on 51 carries, according to someone with knowledge of the cuts," wrote Hutchinson in the Star-Ledger. "According to several other people with knowledge of the team's moves, also released were veteran LB Matt Chatham, CB Hank Poteat, TE A.J. Schable, NT Thomas Johnson and FB Jehuu Caulcrick."
