Jets sign former Arena League star WR
Larry Brackins

Posted Aug 19, 2008

The Jets signed former Arena League standout wide receiver Larry Brackins. He is a 6-4, 221 pounder out of Pearl River Community College.

Brackins was superb for the AFL Champion Philadelphia Soul this past season, being named Offensive Player of the Game twice. He caught 56 passes for 786 yards and 20 touchdowns.

Brackins was a fifth round pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the 2005 draft, but was sidetracked by injuries. He was released after two seasons, and then headed to the Arena League.

Brackins is a great athlete with outstanding size. He is one of those big receivers who wins a lot of battles in traffic.

New York Dragon fans will never forget how he broke their hearts in the AFL playoffs, with a game-winning touchdown catch on the final play of the game.
