Favre's first practice

Posted Aug 9, 2008

When Brett Favre walked on to the field for his first Jets practice, the crowd, the biggest in years at training camp, went wild.

And Favre waived to the crowd. There were some "J*E*T*S - Jets, Jets, Jets," chants along with way from the massive crowd.

Favre's first complete practice pass as a Jet was to Chris Baker. He also threw a terrific pass down field to Baker later in the practice.

His best pass of practice was a throw 30 yards down the sideline to Laveranues Coles.

While Favre got much of the attention, it was another good day for the other Brett - Ratliff.

After practice, Favre held a press conference in the media tent with about 100 reporters and camera people in attendence, including Dr. Z. from Sports Illustrated.
