The Jets did their biggest rival a huge favor, essentially handing them a quality starting quarterback.

By releasing and not trading Chad Pennington, the former Jets starter was able to sign with the Division rival Miami Dolphins.

And Friday, Pennington inked a two-year deal with Miami, and will be their starting quarterback this year.

Not only does Pennington give the Dolphins an upgrade at QB, he can also give the Miami coaches tremendous insight on the Jets playbook. And this should help the Dolphins a great deal in the season opener against the Jets at Dolphins Stadium.
