Brett Favre at first wanted nothing to do with playing in New York. But that is starting to change.

Brett and his wife, Deanna, told ESPN's Rachel Nichols that the quarterback is now open to playing for the Jets. This after a team official explained to him he wouldn't have live in the city.

Since Favre considers himself a "country boy," NYC was something he wanted no part of.

"[The Favre's] are more and more comfortable with New York," said Nichols. "They now know he won't have to live in the city."

After training camp, the Jets are moving into a new training complex in Florham Park, New Jersey. That area has plenty of nice towns to live in that are the polar opposite of city life.

"There is plenty of good hunting near the Jets new facility," said Chris Mortensen, who has close ties to the Favre camp.

According to Favre's agent, James Cook, the Jets and Tampa Bay are both attempting to acquire Favre from Green Bay, and right now the Jets have made the better offer.
