Keller hurt in scrimmage
Dustin Keller (Purdue University)

Posted Aug 2, 2008

Jets rookie tight end Dustin Keller had to leave the scrimmage late in the fourth quarter with some kind of leg injury.

It doesn't look serious. The injury happened on a deep pass down the middle from Kellen Clemens that fell incomplete.

After the scrimmage, he was seen walking around with his left lower leg wrapped. It looks like the problem might be with the outside of his left lower leg. There seemed to be some kind of device taped to that area.

Is Eric Mangini concerned about his prized rookie?

"I didn’t even notice his ankle was wrapped after the game," said Mangini. "A lot of these guys are going to be a little banged up. There’s probably some twists. I didn’t even know he had it wrapped up."
