They released CB Andre Woolfolk, S Darnell Bing and P Joe Smith, and signed LB Jerry Mackey, who has been on-and-off the practice squad, and a pair of Rutgers' prospects - S Ron Girault and LB Brandon Renkart. The also put RB Danny Woodhead on IR.
Woolfolk, a former first round pick of the Tennessee Titans, was attempting to revive his career with Gang Green. He had a hard time staying healthy in Nashville, and those problems continued with the Jets.
Bing, a former Oakland Raider and San Francisco 49er, was a surprisingly early cut. He is a former standout safety at USC.
