Mangini on Dearth's health

Posted Jul 27, 2008

Last season long-snapper James Dearth played with a painful foot injury. In the off-season, he had surgery on the foot. Here is the latest on the progress of the Tarleton State-product.

"He's fine," said Jets coach Eric Mangini. "Thankfully he doesn't have to run that far, and that often."

Noted Dearth fan Steve Serby thinks the team should consider trading Dearth.

"I think the Jets should trade Dearth for Brett Favre," Serby told JC. "But the Packers would have to throw in A.J. Hawk."
