The Jets reached an agreement with Vernon Gholston on a contract sometime during the day on Thursday, but he didn't report until Friday.

So what was the hold up?

Well the league had to approve the deal, and unless the NFL official reviewing the deal took the Evelyn Wood speed reading course, it probably took a whole day to read the entire contract.

Get this - the Gholston contract is 250 pages. That's right - 250 pages.

So that is why Gholston didn't officially become a Jet until Friday morning.

It took the league operative quite some time to approve the deal.

Obviously Gholston's agent Ben Dogra didn't use Legalzoom.com for the contract.
