Tannenbaum on Favre

Late Friday afternoon, Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum reacted to the Brett Favre rumors. There is an internet report that the Jets are interested in the quarterback.

The GM talked to both Chad Pennington and Kellen Clemens about the rumors after practice. The two are currently battling for the Jets starting QB job.

"I had a conversation with Chad and Kellen," said Tannenbaum.

What did you tell them about the rumored talks with the Packers?

"Any conversations with other teams will remain private," said Tannenbaum.

So did the Packers call you?

"Those conversation with other teams will remain private," said Tannenbaum.

Did the Packers call the Jets, or the other way around?

"Again any conversations with other teams will remain private," said Tannenbaum.

What did you say to Chad and Kellen?

"Conversations between me and players will remain private," said Tannenbaum.
