Pennington not concerned about Favre rumors

ESPN's Chris Mortenson, who is very friendly with Brett Favre's agent Bus Cook, reported on Friday the Jets are interested in the quarterback.

One of the team's current quarterback's, Chad Pennington, isn't concerned about the rumors.

"This isn't my first rodeo," said Pennington, a native of Knoxville. "I've been through this before."

Pennington has no problem at the Jets looking into Favre's availability.

"An organization has to look at every player in the league," said Pennington. "But as a player you know not to react until it's a done deal."

After practice, according to Pennington, Jets GM Mike Tannenbaum told him that the Packers called the Jets to gauge interest, not the other way around.

What does Pennington think about the Mortensen report that the Jets are interested in the Green Bay signal-caller?

"I don't have a reaction," said Pennington. "I'm focused on trying to land the starting job." Recommended Stories
