"Living in New York couldn’t be any more different than living in Mississippi," wrote Schefter on NFL.com. "In his Wranglers, Favre is not exactly a New York kind of guy. But the Jets sure could use him.
"They have fortified their offensive line, improved their defense and need only a bonafide quarterback to be viewed as a contender."
Chad Pennington has taken the Jets to playoffs three times in five years as a starter. He also has the highest completion percentage in NFL history. Kellen Clemens is still a work-in-progress, but has a great arm and terrific upside.
To say the Jets lack a "bonafide quarterback" is somewhat insulting to Pennington and Clemens.
And by the way, Favre has thrown the most interceptions in NFL history, and hasn't been to the Super Bowl in ten years. He will also be 39 in October.
