Jets grab Eric Ainge in the fifth round

Posted Apr 27, 2008

In the fifth round of the 2007 draft, the Jets selected Tennessee QB Eric Ainge.

At 6-5 1/2, Ainge has a very good view of the field which helps him scan the field and find open receivers. He is also very intelligent, and won't take long to absorb the playbook.

On the downside, he is a little skinny in the lower body, tends to get banged up a lot, and isn't particularly mobile.

His uncle is Boston Celtics executive Danny Ainge, a former NBA star for the same team.
