Samuel goes to the Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles signed former New England Patriots cornerback Asante Samuel to a six-year contract, probably in the neighborhood of 10-million per year. The announcement was made by a myriad of websites. We have know idea who got it first.

There were rumors that the Jets might be interested, but they were false. Samuel is a very good 5-11 cornerback with average speed. Some scouts consider him a "system" cornerback. You don't give those kind of players $10 million a year.

The Jets probably did the right thing by taking a pass on Samuel.
