Jets sign WR David Ball to active roster

The New York Jets signed WR David Ball to the active roster.

Ball (6-0, 197, New Hampshire) was signed to the practice squad on Nov. 29. He was originally signed by the Bears as an undrafted rookie free agent on Apr. 30, was released on Sept. 1, signed to the practice squad on Sept. 2 before being released on Sept. 18, signed on Sept. 21, and released again on Sept. 24. He is the NCAA Division I-AA record holder for career touchdown receptions (58) surpassing the previous mark held by Mississippi Valley State’s Jerry Rice (50). He finished his collegiate career with 304 catches for 4,655 receiving yards (second all-time, NCAA I-AA) with 23 100-yard receiving games (tied for first all-time, NCAA I-AA).
