Reche Caldwell visits the Jets

On Monday, the New England Patriots cut wide receiver Reche Caldwell. On Tuesday, the Jets had him in for a visit according to the Boston Globe's Mike Reiss.

Perhaps the Jets will do with Caldwell, what they did with former Patriots safety Guss Scott; sign the receiver to pick his brain leading up to the New England game.

The only problem is, then the Jets would have to pay Caldwell for the entire season. Players on an NFL roster for the first game have their contract guaranteed for the entire season. If you sign a player after the first game, you just have to pay him for the games he's on the team.
