Jets lose Richie Anderson to the Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals Football Club today announced the hiring of RICHIE ANDERSON as tight ends coach and MAURICE CARTHON as running backs coach.

"I have great respect for each of these coaches and from working with them in the past, I know they will bring a lot to our staff," said Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt.

Anderson comes to the Cardinals after spending the 2006 season as the assistant wide receivers/tight ends coach for the New York Jets. A veteran of 13 seasons in the NFL as a fullback with the New York Jets (1993-2002) and Dallas Cowboys (2003-05), Anderson began his coaching career last season with the Jets. A native of Silver Spring, MD, Anderson played in 161 games (82 starts) with 318 carries for 1,274 yards and four touchdowns while also catching 400 passes for 3,149 yards and 14 touchdowns during in his NFL career. A 2000 Pro Bowl selection with New York, Anderson holds the Jets team record for most receptions by a running back with 305.
