Jet great Chebet to retire

Jets star wide receiver Wayne Chrebet will officially announce his retirement on Friday. The undrafted free agent out of Hofstra is leaving the NFL due to a rash of concussions that have plagued him over the last few seasons.

A press conference, where the announcement will be officially made, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday in Hempstead.
