Jets sign right tackle insurance

The New York Jets announced today the signing of unrestricted free agent guard/tackle Ethan Brooks.

Brooks, 6-6, 330 pounds, is a seven-year NFL veteran who has spent time with Atlanta, St. Louis, Arizona and most recently Baltimore. Brooks has played in 75 career games, making 26 starts throughout his career. The product of Williams College has seen the majority of his playing time the past three seasons as a member of the Ravens, playing in 44 games and making 23 starts at a variety of positions along the offensive line.

Brooks was a seventh-round draft selection of the Falcons in 1996 before moving on to play for the St. Louis Rams from 1997-1999. He spent time with the Arizona Cardinals during the 2000 season and then joined the Ravens (2002-2004).
