Kendall/Strait injured

Posted Oct 7, 2004

The Jets injury problems at center continue.

Starting center Kevin Mawae is still nursing a broken bone in his right hand, and now his backup, and starting left guard Pete Kendall, is battling a right wrist injury.

Kendall is listed as probable on the injury report, but Jets coach Herman Edwards said last week that means there is a 50 percent chance a player will play.

If Kendall can't play, Jonathan Goodwin would likely replace him at left guard.

Also added to the injury report on Thursday was nickel back Derrick Strait, who hurt his foot in practice. He went for an X-Ray on Thursday, and he has to considered questionable for Sunday's game against Buffalo. He is listed as probable, but Jets coach Herman Edwards said last week that he views probable as 50-50. He would be replaced by veteran Terrell Buckley.
