Jets Draft Preview

Rex Ryan

The Jets had a few big moves this off-season but still have some needs going into the NFL Draft.

New York Jets
2014 draft picks:
1st round (18), 2(49), 3(80), 4(104), 4(115), 4(137), 5(154), 6(195), 6(209), 6(210), 6(213), 7(233)

Everyone thought last season's would be Rex Ryan's last as the Jets head coach. But he did a terrific job of guiding New York to an 8-8 record with a rookie quarterback and not much offensive firepower. Now they have quarterback Mike Vick to battle Geno Smith at QB and they have added the speedy Chris Johnson at running back and a solid wide receiver in Eric Decker.

The Jets have some firepower in this upcoming draft with 12 picks, including six of the top 137.

Needs
1. Wide Receiver

The Jets need to add at least one wide receiver and could land a big time player here with their first selection. It all depends on who they like and how they fit their system. With a dozen picks I expect them to draft two.

2. Tight End
It wouldn't surprise me at all to see New York go tight end with their first or second pick. They need help here. A reliable tight end is a quarterback's best friend.

3. Safety
The Jets need to take a strong look at this position with one of their first six picks.

4. Offensive line
New York signed tackle Breno Giacomini but could add another tackle. Look for the Jets to get stronger in the middle and draft a guard, possibly two on the second and or third day.
