Ah yes, another NFL season. I can't wait. Unfortunately, my expert
analysis of each game will have to wait another week. I moved my family
into a new house, and due to a minor mistake by a major internet
provider, I will not have my computer for another few days. So, I am
writing ( or thumbing really ) this week's picks through my iPhone.
Thank goodness for that device. Since it is difficult to write a large
amount with a phone, I am just going to make each pick with a few quick
words. I will be back to more analysis next week, and I apologize for
the lack of substance.
I will say that I was going to pick the Giants Wednesday
night, but since they lost I will count it as such in my overall
record. Be prepared though. It could be the only time I lose all season.
As always, home team in CAPS.
Denver 2 1/2 Pittsburgh
Peyton Manning's debut. Sure why not.
Broncos 27-23
Carolina 2 1/2 TAMPA BAY
The Bucs can't even sell out their home opener. Really lame.
Panthers 26-21
Atlanta 3 Kansas CITY
A lot of people like the Chiefs to win the division. Me too.
Chiefs 20-17
DETROIT 7 St. Louis
The Lions will make the playoffs for the first time in, oh let me
think, years.
Lions 30-14
Houston 11 1/2 Miami
The Texans are going to the Super Bowl. Yup, I said it.
Texans 34-16
Minnesota 3 1/2 Jacksonville
Both teams stink. The Vikings stink less.
Vikings 23-10
New England 5 Tennessee
Pretty good test for the Patriots. They will pass but it won't be easy.
Patriots 27-17
New Orleans 7 1/2 Washington
Saints have a lot to prove. They will get off to a good start.
Saints 28-13
New York Jets 2 1/2 Buffalo
Jets have not looked good at all. They will be better than they are
showing.
J-E-T-S Jets Jets Jets 24-20
Philadelphia 9 1/2 CLEVELAND
Michael Vick will be hurt by week three.
Eagles 26-10
CHICAGO 9 1/2 Indianapolis
Andrew Luck has looked good so far. Not here though.
Bears 30-10
OAKLAND 2 San Diego
Both teams have some issues, especially San Diego.
Raiders 23-20
BALTIMORE 7 Cincinnati
The Ravens will be in the playoffs, again. But I think age will creep
up on them.
Ravens 20-10
Game of the Week
GREEN BAY 5 San Francisco
This is an NFC Championship preview. And the result will be the same
both weeks.
Packers 24-17
Stinker of the Week
Seattle 2 1/2 Arizona
Good start to the Stinker series.
Cardinals 17-14
Last Year's Record: I forget because I lost my paperwork. I am pretty
sure it was incredible though.
This Year's Record: Likely Remarkable.
