Green and White Report's Mailbag

Green and White Report staff answers five questions from fans regarding the Jets upcoming season.

Question One:

Scott from New Jersey asks:

Do you think that Tony Sparano is a good fit for the Jets?

Green and White Report replies:

Sparano's no nonsense coaching style and goal to play a physical brand of football will be a breath of fresh air for the Jets. With quarterback Mark Sanchez accused of being "coddled" coupled with the fact that former offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer strayed away from the ground-and-pound last season, Sparano will be a welcomed addition to the offensive coaching staff.

Question Two:

Joe from New York asks:

Who will be the Jets starting quarterback down the stretch of next season?

Green and White Report replies:

With speculation growing that Tebow will usurp Sanchez as the starter in New York, the reality is that the job is Sanchez's to lose. Expect Sanchez to have a bounce-back season aided by a powerful running game and revamped defense. Sparano emphasizes the importance of ball security, which is something Sanchez will need to take heed to in order to keep his starting job.

Question Three:

Matt from Pennsylvania asks:

Will Tebow united or divide the Jets locker room?

Green and White Report replies:

Fans are in consensus that an evolving quarterback controversy between Tebow and Sanchez will create animosity between players and ultimately tear apart the locker room. While this is certainly a worst case scenario, New York's quarterbacking duo is putting the team's interests ahead of any personal goals. Sanchez and Tebow have shown a mutual respect and admiration for each other, splitting time under center in Mission Viejo, Ca. at the "Jets West" passing camp. Early indications show that Tebow's leadership and selflessness have made a positive impact on his teammates as they look to bury the bitter memories from last season.

Question Four:

Jimmy from New York asks:

Who will be the Jets MVP this season?

Green and White Report replies:

Without question the most valuable player on the Jets is All-Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis. The former Pittsburgh Panther is as dominating a defensive force as there is in the game. With New York planning a shift from a 3-4 to a 4-3 base defense, Revis will benefit from increased pressure upfront and have more opportunities to create turnovers. Look for another tremendous campaign from the NFL's premier shutdown corner.

Question Five:

Mark from Florida asks:

Will the Jets win the division this year?

Green and White Report replies:

Possible, but not probable. The Patriots will once again be the favorite to capture the divisional crown as they've kept the majority of their roster intact while adding wide receivers Brandon Lloyd, Anthony Gonzalez, Donte Stallworth and tight end Daniel Fells via free agency. New England's vaunted aerial attack has the potential to be the NFL's best. On the Jets side, so many question marks exist on both sides of the ball that everything would have to magically gel in order for them to dethrone Tom Brady and Bill Belichick as division champs.
