Done Deal

A whirlwind day gave way to a bitter-sweet night for the Jets front office.

The New York Jets and Denver Broncos have reached an agreement for the second time today, but this time it didn’t fall apart.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter is reporting that the Jets have agreed to trade fourth and sixth-round draft choices in exchange for a seventh-round pick and former Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow.

New York will pay the Broncos 2.5 million in prepaid bonuses and salary, half the compensation as listed in the original deal. According to sources, Tebow provided input on his landing spot, ultimately approving a trade to New York.

While the Jacksonville Jaguars entered the trade mix, the Jets were persistent in their pursuit of the talented lefty, eventually re-negotiating the blockbuster trade.

It looks as if the prayers of the Jets front office have finally been answered.
