The New York Jets blockbuster deal for Denver Broncos quarterback Tim Tebow has hit a roadblock.
According to a report by ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Broncos and Jets agreed to the deal before Denver requested for Tebow’s salary and bonuses to be paid for by New York. While league sources still believe the trade will eventually go through, the holdup is creating quite a stir amongst Gang Green diehards.
New York's front office misinterpreted the language of the contract which stated the Jets would be responsible for paying 5 million dollars as part of Tebow's salary advance. In their haste to complete the blockbuster deal, the Jets overlooked a critical clause in the contract.
With the Jacksonville Jaguars back in the Tebow Derby, the Jets are back to square one as they attempt to re-negotiate a deal.
